What Is Internal Combustion Engine Oil?
Internal combustion engine oil is also called motor oil and engine oil. It is a lubricating oil mainly composed of mineral base oil or synthetic base oil, and added with additives such as detergent dispersant and anti-corrosion and anti-corrosion additives. The composition includes various hydrocarbons having a molecular weight of 400 to 800 and a small amount of a compound containing sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen or the like. It has good oiliness and is widely used for friction reduction, rust prevention and cooling of friction parts of various gasoline engines and diesel engines. It also has the functions of sealing, cleaning and lubricating surface impurities, and its dosage accounts for more than 40% of the total amount of lubricating oil.
