What Is Hydraulic Oil? What Are The Functions Of Hydraulic Oil?
Hydraulic transmission is one of the four major energy transmission modes (mechanical transmission, electrical power transmission, pneumatic transmission and hydraulic transmission). It is widely used in many industries. Hydraulic oil is the main energy transmitting medium used in the hydraulic transmission.
Apart from the main function of transmitting energy, hydraulic oil also has other benefits of lubricating mechanical parts, reducing wear and frictions, preventing rusting and erosion, sealing, cooling and washing, etc. Therefore, hydraulic oil should possess the following characteristics: suitable viscosity, a good temperature-viscosity performance, oxidation resistance, anti-emulsification, wear resistance, anti-foaming and fast air release, hydrolytic stability, shear stability, filterability, and good compatibility with various other materials. These are the basic requirements for hydraulic oils. Special hydraulic systems have special requirements, for example, anti-flaming property for hydraulic systems working under high temperature, low temperature fluidity and low pour point for hydraulic systems working under low temperature.
